In case you needed confirmation that journalism is dead:

I went to the CBS executives and I said, 'This is the opportunity that we have.' [Elon Musk is] saying 'I want to do it live and on my platform.' He's one of the most influential human beings on the planet.

And the reaction from the executives was, 'Well, we can't do it live.'

'What do you mean we can't do it live.'

'Well, we don't know what he's going to say.'

And I'm thinking, 'Isn't that the point of journalism?'

This was months after the whole Twitter Files saga, where we found out what was really going on behind the scenes before Elon took over.

She says the execs were afraid Elon might tell the truth live on air and that they wouldn't be able to cut or edit it according to how they wanted to present the story.

Herridge also explains an interesting delay in the Hunter Biden laptop confirmation story:

When we did the story we did it after the midterms. I argued against that because it was ready before the midterms, and my training is that you should always do the story when it's ready to go -- you should not be dictated by the political cycle.

By the way, Catherine Herridge bet big on independent media in 2025 and she was right. She's doubling down in '26:

Oh, did I mention that CBS News says they are changing their ways?
