CBS News announced on Friday it will be "pausing its activity" on Twitter following new CEO Elon Musk's recent takeover of the company.
"Tonight, as questions mount over Twitter's future, Elon Musk offered little reassurance he has a permanent plan, tweeting, ‘What should Twitter do next?'," said CBS News national correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti in Friday's episode of Evening News with Norah O'Donnell.
"In light of the uncertainty around Twitter, and out of an abundance of caution, CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform."
The segment was titled "Twitter Turmoil," featuring a quote from a former Twitter engineer saying the company's culture under Musk was "definitely a culture of fear and uncertainty, and anxiety."
CBS News is "one of the first major media entities" to leave or suspend activity on Twitter after Musk took over, according to Fox News.
