We don't do woke stuff anymore America, and that's why we'll no longer call this replenishment oiler by the name of a gay-rights activist who once served in the Navy.
Here's Pete Hegseth:

So now the ship is called the Oscar V. Peterson, which begs the question: Who are Oscar and Peterson and what was their beef?
(Couldn't help the dad joke, sorry.)
As Hegseth explained, Oscar V. Peterson was a Navy Chief who lost his life after repairing a ship when it was attacked by Japanese bombers. Peterson is a Medal of Honor recipient.
Now we've got a Navy tanker named after a hero instead of some gay-rights activist. ✊
