A cat-centric art exhibit is celebrating "National Treasure" Nicolas Cage and his cat... for some reason.
Next month in Pasadena, California, CatCon, an art show that describes itself as the "biggest event in the world dedicated to cat and pop culture," will shine the spotlight on Cage and his feline friend.
The exhibit is called "Uncaged: The Unbearable Weight of Genius Cat Art," and I have to say, I am intrigued.
The curator and founder of Cat Art Show, Susan Michals, praised Cage as an artist's "dream subject."
The sneak peek of some of the artwork is exactly what you'd imagine when you hear an art show is dedicating an exhibit to Nicole Cage and his cat.

Yep. Super bizarre. But also quite fun!
I have a cat. I love my cat. But even I know cats are little weirdos.
I've seen Nicolas Cage movies. I used to like Nicolas Cage. But then, one day, someone told me, "he's a terrible actor." And now, looking back at his old flicks, I see what they mean.
Cage is also a bit of a weirdo.
So, naturally, he and his cat seem like a good match.
"He's cult, he's camp, and he DGAF," Michals said. "Cats have many of the same characteristics ― so why not combine the two and celebrate it on canvas?"
Earlier this year, Cage spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and said his cat Merlin was like family to him.
"Merlin is an unusual cat. It's not the same as the other relationships I've had with cats throughout the years," Cage said. "There's a real, almost human level of affection emanating from him which is almost like a son. It's pretty intense."
If you are a bit of a weirdo, you can purchase the original artwork on the Cat Art Show website. CatCon will display this work on Oct. 1 and 2, and ten percent of the proceeds will go towards cat-related charities.
