Yeah, so this is stupid.
Jesus was born into a context of the Roman Empire, right? People born into subjugation, right? And he immediately has to go into exile and flee and become a refugee in Egypt.
He fled from Judea, which was a Roman province, into Egypt, which was ... a Roman province.
He wasn't fleeing the Romans, but King Herod.
And in case this pastor doesn't realize, ICE isn't rounding up refugees with real refugee status. They are only arresting people who entered the country illegally, or came here legally but were convicted of a crime.
But hey, this "pastor" with a gay flag on his church must know more about the story of Jesus?
(It couldn't be that he's hollowing out the Christian faith to wear it as a skin-suit.)
