Is this awesome, or should we be very worried?

Chinese hobbyist and inventor Fan Shisan is going viral after sharing clips of his latest invention, an army of flying swords.

A few clips of the drones, which can be controlled by the operator's hand motions, have been shared around the internet.

The drones are designed to imitate the "flying sword" trope often found in anime and kung fu movies.

This longer video shows some of the process of making these things.

(Sorry, it's all in Chinese and we have no clue what he's saying)

In addition to making flying anime swords, Fan Shisan is a Guinness World Record-holding swordsman in a few categories, including the fastest time to cut 10 watermelons (9.03 seconds in July 2025) and the most candles extinguished with one sword swipe (90 in August 2025).

Here he is extinguishing some candles like a kung-fu master:

Apparently, he's hoping to work out the remaining bugs and build thousands more of these.
