First, we had racist Sesame Street mascots, and now the pizza rat is racist.
A New Jersey mother claims that the Chuck E. Cheese mascot is racist for purposefully ignoring her child who was wanting a high-five.
This story is SO much like the Sesame Street story, it's hard to believe that it's a coincidence.
Apparently, if a teenager in a costume doesn't happen to notice your children, and if your children are black, the entire company is now racist.
Watch the video, all the kids that Chuck greeted, they were all on stage, they were all in the line of sight of Chuck. Then you have the little girl who is on the floor, on the other side of the mouse. He missed her and now it's racist like everything else.
I don't know if y'all have ever been in a cheap mascot costume, but your vision is pretty limited.
The idea that the FIRST explanation for him missing the child is that he's racist is completely ridiculous.
From the Washington Examiner:
Natyana Muhammad took her children to Chuck E. Cheese in Wayne, New Jersey, on Saturday, when she took a video of its mouse mascot ignoring her daughter. Muhammad subsequently shared the video on social media...
Muhammad claimed the manager apologized, saying the mascot did not see her daughter. The manager was also shown the video before it was posted. Her daughter got a photo with the mascot at the manager's insistence, according to Muhammad.
She showed the manager the video and the manager apologized and explained. THEN the mama went and tweeted this to try to make a racial issue out of nothing.
Ridiculous.
"Chuck E. Cheese is saddened when any family or child has a less than perfect experience. We want to thank the family who brought this to our attention at our Wayne, NJ location and for giving the onsite manager an opportunity to apologize and address their concerns in person," the chain wrote in a statement.
"As home to millions of families and kids every year that celebrate the big and small milestones, including fun, our goal is to create an inclusive experience for children and parents of all ages, races, ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and learning differences," it added. "Our mission is to provide a fun and a safe place Where A Kid Can Be A Kid, and all cast members are trained to ensure that we live up to this promise."
This is pathetic from Chuck E. Cheese.
This clearly looks like someone trying to cash in on the racist mascot trend.
