ESPN and the like already partnering with the casinos, so I guess it was only a matter of time before news media took a similar path:
CNBC also announced a media partnership with Kalshi.

The popular prediction site has a new multi-year partnership with the business news giant that will put Kalshi's real-time prediction data across CNBC's channel, site, and app, starting in 2026.
Kalshi reached a similar data integration deal with CNN on Tuesday. That day, Kalshi also announced that it had raised $1 billion from investors at an $11 billion valuation.
The terms of the two partnerships weren't disclosed, but a person familiar with the deals said that money is changing hands in both.
Here's what Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour had to say about the gambling platform:
I'll quote my editor-in-chief:
"Translation: He wants to make money off of arguments. Kalshi is a betting app ... so you monetize people's arguments by letting them put cash on what they think is true/will happen."
Here's how Wikipedia describes Kalshi, which is a competitor to Polymarket:
Kalshi Inc. is an American financial exchange and prediction market based in New York City, offering gambling via event contracts. Launched in July 2021, it provides a betting platform for trading contracts tied to the outcomes of future events, including economic indicators, weather patterns, awards, and political and legislative outcomes, with contracts priced based on the market's estimated probability of each event occurring.

And at least two media giants are partnering with this company.
Because what society "needs" right now is MORE gambling. 😭
