And get this, the Somali man in custody, Iman Osman, was just elected to serve as a city councilor for the town of Lewiston.
In Maine.
Because of course!

Councilor-elect Iman Osman was indicted Monday on charges of receiving stolen property and theft by unauthorized taking.
According to the court document obtained by Maine's Total Coverage reporter Cate McCusker, the charges are connected to firearms or explosive devices obtained from two different estates between Nov. 15, 2023, and Oct. 11, 2024.
Osman, 36, is currently a member of the Lewiston School Committee. He won the Nov. 4 election for the Ward 5 City Council seat against incumbent Councilor Eryn M. Soule-Leclair by 35 votes, according to the city's municipal election results.
All over the country, felons are regularly listed as "white" in the system. Sometimes, when a felon is clearly of African descent, it's a mistake. Other times, when someone is Middle Eastern or ambiguously Hispanic/Asian, they get recorded as "white" by default.
Since this is Maine, perhaps this Somali guy will actually be penalized for stealing guns.
If he were in Minnesota, he'd probably be celebrated as a hero!
That being said, did you know that Maine has a sizable Somali population that is hard at work stealing, cheating, and scheming??
