CNN just received its smallest primetime (8-11 p.m. ET) audience in more than three decades among 25-to-54-year-olds — that all-important demographic — with only 84,000 average viewers last week.
For comparison, Fox News received 219,000 average viewers in the same time slot and demographic.
CNN ranked 33rd among all basic cable channels in the 25-to-54-year-old demographic during primetime last week behind channels including Adult Swim, BET, Comedy Central, Freeform, FXX, Hallmark, MTV, Reelz, Syfy, TV Land, and WETV.
CNN also received 383,000 total day viewers on average across all demographics last week, ranking 21st among all basic cable channels. Fox News reports its network finished last week with the most viewership in cable news channels, averaging 1.3 million total day viewers and "nearly two million" during primetime hours.
CNN's primetime lineup consists of "Anderson Cooper 360," "CNN Primetime," and "CNN Tonight," none of which any of you have probably ever watched. Fox News' primetime lineup consists of "Tucker Carlson Tonight," "Hannity," and "The Ingraham Angle."
