Come here for the highlights of Dems trying (and failing) to dunk on Pete Hegseth during his Senate confirmation hearing

Politicians are mostly theater kids who couldn't make it in Hollywood, but sometimes watching a movie with bad acting makes it more enjoyable.

Yes, those are actual adult human beings at Pete Hegseth's confirmation hearing (Trump nominated him to serve as secretary of defense).

Let's get to the Democrat senators.

Enter Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire:

What I heard: "You said that 2+2=4, Mr. Hegseth. Do you stand by this statement?"

She really tried to dunk on him for observing:

  1. That men do a better job of killing fellow humans because they have biological advantages over women.

  2. That women are (much) more likely to be sexually assaulted by enemy combatants.

  3. That women would cause sexual distractions if paired in combat with men who are supposed to be laser-focused on killing the enemy.

Now let's move to Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island:

Translation: "Wokeism isn't divisive at all. By removing it, you are therefore divisive." 🤡

We've got the U.S. military supporting transgenderism and Critical Race Theory, but you're telling me PETE HEGSETH is injecting "partisan politics" by wanting to get rid of the woke stuff so the military can focus on being LETHAL?

But that's not all from Reed:

The worst might have been Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand from New York:

Hegseth's response was absolute fire.

Senator, I volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan under Democrat president Barack Obama. I also volunteered to guard the inauguration of Joe Biden but was denied the opportunity to serve because I was identified as as an extremist by my own unit for a Christian tattoo.

Meanwhile, Sen. Dick Blumenthal from Connecticut tried to go after Hegseth for running a veteran organization years ago and kept asking Hegseth random questions like a little spider.

Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi came to Hegseth's defense with a prepared statement from the man who hired Hegseth to run that organization, noting how the 2008 financial crisis had challenged the organization but that Hegseth had done an excellent job leading nonetheless.

Before I go, please enjoy Sen. Hirono of Hawaii, who might just be the least intelligent senator in U.S. history.

UPDATE: It's LIZ WARREN from the TOP ROPE (she face-planted).

UPDATE: Michigan is not sending its best:

I'll leave you with Hegseth torching the media:
