Tech gurus and future bros like to claim that AI is going to usher in a new era of human productivity, wealth, and flourishing.
I dunno, when I look at stuff like this, I just see millions of guys out of work with nothing to do.
Call me crazy, but that just looks like a robot taking a job that a human would've done.

(And you know the workers back there are thinking the exact same thing.)
NBC News reports further:
[Boston Dynamics] said a product version of the robot that will help assemble cars is already in production and will be deployed by 2028 at Hyundai's electric vehicle manufacturing facility near Savannah, Georgia. ...
Hyundai also announced a new partnership with Google's DeepMind, which will supply its artificial intelligence technology to Boston Dynamics robots.
My totally reasonable and even-handed thoughts in response to news like this:

Here's Hyundai-owned Boston Dynamics' Atlas at the CES tech showcase in Vegas:
And here's Spot, their robot dog you've probably seen before:
It really does feel like we're all just sort of sleepwalking into this, right? Billion-dollar companies are actively and openly moving to replace boatloads of workers with robots.
NBC, meanwhile, is really underselling the looming crisis:
Humanoids don't yet have enough dexterity to threaten many human jobs, though a debate over their effects on employment is likely to grow as they become more skilled.
Yeah, uhh...
