Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could soon have friends and family members on both sides of the aisle ... as she walks down it -- she engaged to her longtime BF!

AOC confirmed she and Riley Roberts are officially taking their relationship to the next level by tweeting, "It's true. Thank you all for the well wishes."

Just think of how unstoppable AOC will be now that she has someone to tie her shoelaces for her!

Some people didn't take it well, however:

After many years of trying to decenter "whiteness," elevate LGBTQI2S+ BIPOC voices, and "do the work" of overcoming the Eurocentric patriarchy, it's wonderful that comrade AOC would build bridges by marrying a white cisgender male!

But I think the saddest thing is that the Elon/AOC romance never happened. What a world they could have made together! 😭
