Everyone knows that Japan has an odd assortment of vending machines for the discerning gourmand.
If you're moderately hungry, you can grab a quick pizza complete with a plastic pizza slicer.
If your hunger leans more toward the environmentally insane left, Japan's got you covered too with a machine full of insect snacks.
And now they've introduced a vending machine for the macho right-leaning hungry too. Check out this baby full of bear meat:
The new bear meat vending machine can be found in Akita near the local bullet train station and is mostly purchased by tourists from Tokyo. The bears are provided by a local hunting club and processed at a local slaughterhouse.
250 grams of bear meat costs 2,200 yen (about $17), and it sells out regularly because bear hunting season is limited.
On the other hand, for the farthest right-leaning hunger, there's this rifle vending machine in the game meat restaurant KEMONO, so you can go bag your own bear.
Of course, Japan gun laws are super oppressive.
It doesn't allow anyone but the police or military to purchase a gun or rifle.
So this vending machine is just a rug-pull display; you can't actually get the rifles or the bullets out.
Luckily we live in America.
If you really want to eat a bear, most states have a bear hunting season available.
Or you can buy it at exotic meat markets for between $10 and $25 per pound.
That's the beauty of living in a free country. Enjoy it!
