GOOD NEWS: Dairy Queen's giant spoon found thanks to Pokémon Go
· Apr 5, 2023 · NottheBee.com

A few days ago, NTB reported on the missing giant spoon taken from an Arizona Dairy Queen.

The giant spoon went missing, and they just wanted it back, no questions asked.

I know you all must have been very worried about the giant spoon's whereabouts, so I followed this case very closely...

And good news!

AP News reports that the spoon has been found safe and sound!

Michael Foster, 52, was playing Pokémon Go when he spotted the 15-foot spoon lying on the ground, all alone, behind a fence at a Phoenix middle school just about 2 miles from the crime scene.

The spoon was found in good condition and safely returned to the Dairy Queen.

When Foster first stumbled upon the giant spoon, he sent a picture to his wife and said, "It's the spoon." His wife then told him to call the police.

No one else saw the spoon because it was early on Monday morning, and the school was beginning to open.

The school's maintenance man came over and pushed the spoon over the fence to Foster, who later handed it to Phoenix police.

"I can confirm the Dairy Queen 'red spoon' was located and recovered this morning," Sgt. Brian Bower said in an email Monday.

Foster told AP:

I did kind of look around and was like, ‘What?' One guy did finally come by and was like, ‘Is that what I think it is?' Yeah, that's the spoon.

I set it down. They actually did the lifting after we got it over the fence. They strapped it to the top of a police cruiser.

Police are still looking for suspects who stole the spoon and encouraging the public to submit tips.
