Everyone knows bacon is delicious and brings joy to hundreds of millions of people everyday, and that's why the crazy-lefty joykillers want to take it away from us.

But when a Washington DC-based animal-rights group (cleverly disguised as a physicians committee) goes after a collegiate-level baseball team in Georgia because they're called "Macon Bacon," I think the veggie train has come all the way off the track.

Dr. Anna Herby the Nutrition Education Program Manager for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine sent the team an open letter demanding that they "stop promoting bacon," so they don't end up giving all their fans cancer.

The Physicians Committee's website shows that they're really just animal-rights activists using medicine to justify their rush to the bottom of the food chain. It includes lots of "eat only plants" messaging and even a "tell the USDA and NIH to stop cruel and deadly animal experiments" campaign.

The group also rented a billboard near the baseball field to send a message to the team.

(Something about cancer, baseball, and bacon pirates I guess.)

To her credit, Dr. Herby did go above and beyond the usual mad liberal ranting. She offered some suggestions for the baseball team.

Here are my top favorites:

• Change the team's name to Facon Bacon and promote plant-based bacon alternatives.
• Have Kevin, Macon Bacon's mascot, reveal that he is actually plant-based bacon.
• Serve plant-based bacon foods at the concession stand like Bacon Wrapped Bacon, Steak Cut Bacon, Bacon Cheeseburger, Bacon Dog, Bacon Loaded Cheese Fries, Bacon Loaded Mac N Cheese, and Bacon Chips.

All of that last suggestion sounds delicious--except for the "plant-based" part.
