D.C. police wanted to use a HEAT RAY on protesters!

Apparently, the Washington DC military police were a little nervous about some protests near the White House. So, in the most future-is-now move ever, they asked to borrow a heat ray gun from the National Guard!

The heat ray, more officially known as an Active Denial System, shoots a "harmless" microwave beam that makes the target feel like their skin is on fire! Which, to be fair, probably feels somewhat familiar to many of the protesters anyway...

Unfortunately, the National Guard was like, "Uhhh, yeah we're fresh out of those."
