GOP Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene has certainly raised a few eyebrows with some of her past statements.
Most recently, Greene is opposing the Left's LGBTQ "Equality Act," which would in fact destroy equality by making subjective perceptions of identity and sexual appetite a protected class under law.
To spite her, Democratic Rep. Marie Newman (IL) put a transgender flag outside Greene's office:
In Greene's comments on the House floor, she argued that the act would "put trans rights above women's rights" while affirming the worth of all individuals.
On Twitter, she doubled down on the ways the bill would erode women's rights by destroying the very concept of "female" in the first place and go against scientific facts regarding human biology and psychology. She also said it would destroy "women's rights, religious rights, and rights of the unborn," and called it "a direct attack on God's creation" because "He created us male and female."
This is the context that Rep. Newman conveniently left out when she called out Greene's assertion that the bill is "disgusting, immoral, and evil."
