Dentist who rode a hoverboard during tooth extraction found guilty of medicaid fraud

According to this Anchorage Daily News article, Seth Lookhart, an Anchorage dentist, was sentenced to 12 years in prison following dozens of charges related to Medicaid fraud and other dental malpractices. Lookhart had nearly killed several patients by sedating them for longer periods of time than required ... oh and he did that minor hoverboard tooth extraction thing:

In January, Lookhart was found guilty by a jury on 46 charges including Medicaid fraud, embezzlement, reckless endangerment and unlawful dental acts. The article states that, "charges were filed in 2017 after a former employee told investigators the dentist was increasing profits by performing more intravenous (IV) sedation than necessary."

In 2016, Lookhart and his former office manager Shauna Cranford billed nearly $2 million in unjustified IV sedation expenses, according to charging documents. Since medicaid patients do not pay for IV sedation, he was able to get away with billing more for them than other anesthetics. The patients would then be sedated for longer than necessary so that he was able to charge even more. Investigators had found numerous text messages from Lookhart describing the scheme.

He may be a scumbag, but he actually looks very talented on the hoverboard. Not "pull my tooth out" talented, but I've seen and done worse on those things.
