This is a wild story and it's giving me modern-day This Present Darkness vibes.
Pastor Jamie Sanchez of Recycle God's Love evangelical church owns the Drip Cafe in Denver — a cafe which he opened as part of his "Project Revive" initiative meant to help the homeless reshape their lives and sober up.
Leftists hate that, apparently.

The program, according to Fox News, "helps the homeless access housing, transportation, identification, addiction counseling, and jobs — grounded in Christian discipleship."
But the project is rooted in Christianity, and in Denver that's apparently not okay, especially in the Art District on Santa Fe Drive.
Before the cafe even opened, Sanchez was getting berated online with messages accusing him of being anti-gay. And on opening day at the Drip Cafe, a group called Denver Communists showed up to protest. Said commies have been protesting at Drip for two years now.
Here, from a revised version of Recycle God's Love church's "beliefs" page, is what the commies are mad about:
It doesn't matter that Sanchez is helping homeless people reshape their lives; it doesn't matter that Sanchez hosted a blind black DJ who performed during one of these protests; it doesn't matter that it plainly states on the website, "showing hate towards people in these communities is not the way Jesus would respond" — the communists want the Drip Cafe out!
His property has been vandalized, windows broken and 'Keep Santa Fe Gay' stickers have been left on windows and mirrors. Recently, a spray-painted image of a KKK member hanging was left on the café's front door.
Sanchez, of course, is Hispanic and very brown, so the KKK painting is peak woke idiocy.
More from YouTuber Angela Rose:
Sanchez continues to receive hate from the Denver Communists, and I'll leave you with an excerpt from one of their blogs, again with modern-day This Present Darkness vibes.
The Denver Communists and our allies have protested the Drip on its busiest day of the month for two years, usually during the First Friday Art Walk events that bring hundreds or thousands to the area. The protests have unquestionably damaged the Drip's business and destroyed its ability to develop an organic clientele from the neighborhood. The business has instead been forced to turn to politically motivated donations and purchases from like-minded bigots from outside the city and state to stay afloat.
...
We may not succeed in running the Drip out of town before the end of its lease, but that is ultimately irrelevant. The protests against the hate-café are serving as a training ground for new queer-rights activists, the message of queer liberation is being spread, and our ultimate victory, while delayed, is inevitable.
The commies are probably just jealous of the homeless people at Drip who actually have jobs.
