DeSantis, Ramaswamy See Fundraising Surge After GOP Debate

I don't think it was lost on anyone who the two biggest winners of the first GOP 2024 primary debate were, but this rather definitively proves it:

[Ron] DeSantis' campaign confirmed to Fox News Digital that it pulled in more than $1 million in the 24 hours after Wednesday's contest in Milwaukee. โ€ฆ

Political newcomer Ramaswamy also saw money flow into his committee. His campaign hauled in $460,000 on debate night and $600,000 on Thursday, bringing his total to over $1 million in new funds over 24 hours, the New York Post reported.

That's not surprising. Neither candidate did perfectly in the debate, but both offered the clearest and most forceful visions of their respective presidencies. Ramaswamy was cool, confident, off-the-cuff, funny; DeSantis was determined, forceful, unblinking. People want to give money to those types of guys.

Nikki Haley's campaign, meanwhile, reportedly "raised more in the 24 hours following the debate than any day since she entered." So probably, what, like $2,000, even with Fox News pushing her so hard? (It's just the truth folks.)

A Washington Post poll showed GOP voters giving DeSantis a narrow edge in the debate ahead of Ramaswamy, with Haley a very distant third. None of the others polled in the double digits.
