Cracker Barrel really doesn't know who their customers are, do they?
The corporation which just unveiled a new logo that everyone hates ...
... spent this week in New York City hosting TikTokers and appearing on Good Morning America to downplay their mistakes.
Here's the cope on GMA:
And here's the TikTok influencer party that corporate was in NYC for:
The 'A Taste of Country, Anytime' event was held in Gansevoort Plaza in the Meatpacking District, bringing southern-style comfort food and a country hospitality experience to the Big Apple.
The event featured classic Cracker Barrel menu items, rocking chairs, games, line dancing and a performance by country music singer Jordan Davis, who starred in a new commercial for the company. The closest Cracker Barrel to New York City is about 45 miles away in Mount Arlington, New Jersey.
This is what we call an astroturf campaign.
The Barrel thinks they can forsake their core customer base of country boys, old folks, and families, and instead appeal to Gen Z TikTokers and pretend like everything is awesome.
But there's cornhole and line dancing! In NYC! Isn't it so quaint and "country-coded"? Nothing has changed!
I think that Cracker Barrel is about to find out what kind of move this is.
