Novak Djokovic joined 60 Minutes and spoke about something many of us have felt in the past few years - being seen as a villain for being unvaccinated.
Djokovic told 60 Minutes that he is not an anti-vaxxer; he's simply "pro-freedom to choose."
Which is apparently an outrageous concept.
We all saw what happened to Djokovic and got to watch him rise from the ashes in the most victorious way possible.
I had basically most of the world against me. I had that kind of experience on the tennis court with crowds that were not maybe cheering me on, but I never had this particular experience before in my life.
They did everything they could to make him comply - he was banned from playing tennis, deported from the US, and vilified, like he said, around the entire world.
Djokovic says he learned how to thrive in that heated environment.
Would he feel better if he was liked? Well, yes...
The amount of pressure and stress is so much higher if you have [the] crowd against you.
But what can you do when the world has gone insane, and you're being gaslit into thinking YOU'RE the REAL problem?
You stick to your guns and prove the world wrong (and then go on to win the US Open.)
