Morgan Spurlock, known for his 2004 documentary that took aim at the fast food industry, has passed away from cancer at the age of 53.

Man, cancer absolutely sucks and I would never wish it on my worst enemy.

'It was a sad day, as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan,' says Craig Spurlock, who worked with his brother on several projects. 'Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas and generosity. Today the world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.'

Spurlock rose to fame with Super Size Me by only eating McDonald's for a month. He claimed he gained 25 pounds and damaged his liver.

It was the biggest documentary of its time.
