Ask me if I care whether or not you like golf (I don't—didn't you read the headline?). I've been watching golf my whole life and this is one of the craziest finishes I've ever seen.
Let me paint the picture for you.
Yesterday was the final round of the 2020 BMW Championship. It came down to John Rahm vs. Dustin Johnson, currently the two best players in the world.
It looked like Rahm had it in the bag as DJ was one shot back with a nearly impossible 43-foot putt over a ridge and down a hill for birdie on the final hole. Here is how that nearly impossible putt went:
DJ even put one finger up and did a half fist-pump. Like he ALMOST fist-pumped but stopped himself. For those of you who don't know, Dustin Johnson never shows any emotion and has never smiled in his life.
That insane putt forced a sudden death playoff against Rahm.
It didn't last long.
Earlier I referred to DJ's putt as nearly impossible. Well 20 minutes after he sunk his putt, John Rahm made an actually impossible putt on the same hole to beat Dustin Johnson and win the trophy and the glory and the $1,710,000 payout.
From 66 FEET:
What an unbelievable ending.
