Doritos is releasing a "nacho cheese" flavored hard liquor and nothing about this sounds like a good idea at all

Just when you thought the cuisine fusion ideas couldn't get worse than "Hard Mountain Dew," one American brand has decided to take horrible promotional ideas to the next level.

The fine folks at Doritos, who did bring us the wonderful Doritos Locos Tacos at Taco Bell, have once again taken a step outside of their domain and are now releasing a nacho cheese hard liquor.

Yeah, it's a real thing. No joke.

Doritos and drink company Empirical announced a collaboration on Dec. 12 that they're calling a "nacho cheese spirit."

In a joint press release, the companies said the drink was made by using real Doritos chips and extracting their "essence through vacuum distillation."

Not only are they making a nacho cheese-flavored Dorito alcohol, but it's also got actual Dorito chips in it. Or at least their "essence."

The only thing I can imagine tasting worse than a nacho cheese, Dorito-based alcoholic spirit is the inevitable follow-up "cool ranch" version of the same drink.

(Cool ranch Doritos are gross. Fight me.)

It tastes like "the real thing," the companies claim.

"The spirit opens with umami and tangy aromas of nacho cheese, moving to the deeper, corn-forward flavors of the chip to finish on a soft salty note," the release said, seemingly without a hint of irony, adding it can be enjoyed neat or over ice.

The company provided several drink recipes, too, including variations on a margarita, bloody mary and old fashioned.

If you want to purchase this spirit, and I can't imagine why you would do that to yourself, the suggested retail price is going to be set at $65 a bottle.

$65. For nacho-cheese-Dorito-flavored liquor.

Some of y'all got too much money.
