Dr. Deborah Birx was another in a long line of "rules for thee but not for me" elites who commanded us plebs to hide in our Covid panic rooms, while they went out and enjoyed all the things that they said were forbidden.
Dr. Birx's particular sin was that after telling Americans to limit their Turkey Day plans to their own households, she had a Thanksgiving Day extravaganza with three generations and two seperate families.
SHOCKING!
You'll also remember, she got caught.
But unlike so many politicians, i̶n̶s̶t̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ in addition to issuing a half-hearted apology and then getting right back to being better than the people she serves, Birx is falling on her sword.
She's retiring.
But before you go feeling all bad for her, remember that when she was confronted with her hypocrisy she gave a whole bunch of excuses. And even in her retirement announcement, she played the victim again!
"I will have to say, as a civil servant, I will be helpful through a period of time, and then I will have to say, this experience has been a bit overwhelming. It has been very difficult on my family."
Poor thing.
She says she's planning to stick around long enough to help with the Biden transition before she disappears in shame to one of her vacation homes.
"I want the Biden administration to be successful. I will be helpful in any role that people think I can be helpful in and then I will retire."
