The punishment seems way too soft and short... But what do I know?

Kelsey Meta Boren, 31, pled guilty last month to 11 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree.

She was sentenced to 11 months in jail and five years probation. She will be registered as a sex offender. She will be banned from contact with the victim and will need her probation officer's permission to have contact with other minors.

Police found a sexually explicit image of a girl estimated as 12 or younger back on email accounts that traced back to Boren, which led to her arrest.

Boren was an instructional assistant in the Fern Ridge School District at the time. The Lane County Sheriff's Office said none of Boren's victims knew her from her job, though.

Boren also posted photos of herself with 11-year-old drag performer "Vanellope MacPherson DuPont," in which Boren called herself Vanellope's "drag mom."

In October, a Satan-themed Oregon pub named Old Nick's Pub announced a drag queen event, saying, "Vanellope is here to show you what an 11-year-old drag queen can do."

"With all the charm and sweetness of a bowl of sugary cereal, Vanellope is here to brighten up your morning with all her drag talent," Old Nick's Pub announced on Facebook.

Vanellope's family and friends said Boren's relationship with the girl was "professional" and that they met "maybe four or five" times.

"Meta-Boren was not a family friend, nor was she ever a mentor for V in the drag world," Vanellope's family and friends said in a statement. "They, also, have not had any contact since before COVID, and all ties have been severed as of the time of Meta-Boren's arrest in August."
