Our favorite WaPo journalist (to make fun of) Taylor Lorenz is back at it again, this time attacking Elon Musk for... letting other people make money off of Twitter?
Is that what we're mad about now?
Yesterday, after months of lead-up, Elon's Twitter began paying out on his promise for verified users to have their tweets monetized. Many influencers on the app were paid for content since February and many made over $10,000.
This isn't public info, but many accounts were thankful for Elon's move and decided to share what they made.
This apparently made Taylor Lorenz, who refuses to pay for verification on Twitter and doesn't allow people to reply (therefore rendering her Twitter earning power to zero), very mad.
I mean, check out this headline:
Yes, "far right" Twitter users are now cashing in their exorbitant salary of around $1,000 a month so that Elon can continue to make the platform a home for the evil Republicans and pro-free speech rightists!
Needless to say, Lorenz's definition of "far right" includes anyone to the right of Hillary Clinton.
The irony is that lefty accounts are generally not making quite as much off Twitter for one simple reason:
And even that assertion isn't totally true.
The highest earner I have found who posted their earnings is leftwing nutbag Ed Krassenstein:
Krassenstein made more than $24k while most conservatives I've seen have made, at most, around $10k over the 6-month period. And that's from hugely popular accounts.
Lorenz also took time while writing this hit-piece to reach out to her favorite target and the lady she doxxed, Libs of TikTok.
Chaya handled the inquiry with sarcastic wit.
Okay, she freaking smoked her and it's hilarious:
That's the kind of disdain for journalists we just LOVE to see!
Good job LOTT!
Of course, Lorenz will whine about this on Threads, or TikTok, or wherever libs go to gripe and complain about Twitter nowadays.
And the rest of us will sit back, laugh at her, and keep raking in that sweet Elon cash.
