Watch as these two balloonheaded cartoon characters smear red paint on Monet's pricless "The Artist's Garden at Giverny" painting from 1900:
That happened in Stockholm. The activists, of course, also glued their stupid hands to the beautiful painting.
I do not speak their language fluently but will take a shot at a rough translation of what they were saying in the video:
"We are extraordinarily privileged, narcissistic brats who were never taught respect, manners, decency, or tradition. Our lives are so easy and boring that we have been forced to make up ways to believe we are being oppressed. We resent competent and responsible people, and all things beautiful and good, and so we are out here acting like 4-year-olds, smearing paint and gluing our hands to a priceless piece of art."
There is protective glass over the painting, yes, but it still might have been damaged. According to Baron's,
The museum told AFP it was "not yet known" if the painting itself had been damaged...
The painting "is being examined by the museum's curators to see if there has been any damage", the museum said in a statement, while spokeswoman Hanna Tottmar said they hoped to "have more information" on Thursday.
These grown children desecrating timeless pieces of art and blocking roadways in the name of eco-warriorism, they're really becoming a nuisance. If you see something like this as a citizen, do something.
It would only take a few of these situations being "dealt with" by nearby civilians who have an ounce of decency and courage for this whole fad to die down very quickly, methinks.
