We get it, libs, Trump is Hitler. We've heard it for nearly a decade now, and it's still just as fun as it was in the beginning.
But on the Left, some are getting sick of it. For example, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who realizes (1) that the Hitler talk is not helping, and (2) that it's just silly.
With all that's going on to everyday New Yorkers, we're asking questions that, 'is someone a fascist,' or 'is someone a Hitler' — that's insulting to me. That is insulting. And I'm not going to engage in that. Everyone needs to turn down the rhetoric, because after Election Day we still have to be the United States, and not the divided states.And so if people can't understand there are real issues facing New Yorkers, and I just find it just humiliating that what everyday mom and pops are doing and going through across this country that here we are having this conversation about this silly item. So I refuse to participate in that. I'm going to fight for New Yorkers like I've done for years, and whoever can't understand that they're not in these streets. When I'm at these town halls talking to people here, they're not asking me these silly questions.
We are in this bubble, you know, and I know you guys really believe these stories you're writing. It gives you a lot of clicks, it's exciting, it gives you headlines, but this is not what New Yorkers and Americans are dealing with, folks.
They are scared of their future. Someone needs to stand up and say enough of this. Tone down the rhetoric, let people hear the facts, let them vote, and let's decide what the next four years are going to be for our country. And that's my position, I cannot make it any clearer.
Alright, hurry up and get this guy prosecuted for his Turkish collusion or whatever you got him on. He's starting to sound like one of those red-hats.
Seriously though, Adams has a great point. It does not help to call Trump "Hitler." Just ask these undecided Pennsylvania voters. The American people are not hyper-focused on Trump being some sort of fascist dictator. They had him as president for four years, and many of them were grateful for it. These people are worried about putting food on the table, making rent payments, and getting their kids into college. Right now, they don't need silly distractions like "Trump is Hitler."
And, I mean, we're a little desensitized to the whole "my political opponent is Hitler" thing either way. My editor even made a list of all the people who have been labeled Hitler in the past.
So Dems, it's probably too late, but you should take these words from Mayor Adams and soak in them. Especially since next time we're up for a presidential election you guys won't have to deal with the Orange Man.
My instincts tell me that you'll move right on to "JD Vance is Hitler."
