He was initially taken into custody for an outstanding and unrelated arrest warrant, police said. He was released from prison in June following a six-month sentence for a February 2023 drug paraphernalia crime, according to records from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry.
Police said he admitted to the arson and told them his actions were not politically motivated or related to the election.

Dieter Klofkorn (best name ever?) is homeless and has a lengthy rap sheet.
Some social users are claiming he's a registered Republican who donated to the Save America PAC (they conveniently forgot to leave proof). A logical person might note that all sorts of people donate to political campaigns, that plenty of criminals have been both Democrat or Republican, and that we shouldn't judge a whole generic group of people by a single Fruit Loop.
That doesn't matter to the internet, however. People want the bad guys to be the perfect caricature of a group they consider to be their enemies (the Right is guilty of this too).
Sorry, Donna. You expressed an opposing viewpoint that suggested that liberals might be the ones who are deranged, so you're basically a Nazi!
In normal world, you'd look at a perp like this:
And think, "Huh, this dude is crazy. We should make sure guys like this aren't walking the streets."
But in clown world where Americans are blinded by sheer hate and prejudice, all they see is [Insert Personal Enemy Here].
Let me explain the logic in this one:
1) Premise 1: Trump is a Nazi (NO ARGUMENTS ALLOWED, HE IS A NAZI)
2) Premise 2: Dieter Klofkorn is from Germany and posted once or twice about people mistakenly thinking he is a Nazi just because he is from Germany.
3) Conclusion: Russian President Vladimir Putin is coordinating with Trump to activate German sleeper agents to burn ballots so they can seize control of America.
There's no reasoning with that level of crazy. All you can do is pray God sorts it out.
