Being a sanctuary city was all fun and games for New York City until they had to live with the consequences of it.
They thought, "We aren't in Texas, why not?"
But as Texas and Florida continue to send illegal aliens to New York City, Eric Adams has decided to suspend some of the city's shelter policies because there are just too many for them to handle.
A spokesman for Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the decision on Wednesday night, saying that the city had "reached our limit" and ended up having to place newly arrived migrants in gyms last week.
NYC is seeing nowhere near the influx as border towns like El Paso. But America's biggest city can't handle it.
No more private housing for families, as mandated by previous rules. No more individualized shelters. New York is just going to cram people wherever they can.
Eric Adams sure has changed his tune since his election:
Being a sanctuary city has really lost a lot of its luster. It's all fun and games when it's a virtue signal, but when reality sets in it sucks.
And with Title 42 ending today things are only going to get worse for New York:
Maybe you should have thought of the disastrous consequences of your policies and the Democrat position before you promise free housing to all, huh mayor?
