ESPN tried to make Notre Dame's win about race but coach Marcus Freeman just wasn't having it

Marcus Freeman has done the impossible -- and, no, I don't mean taking Notre Dame to the national title. Freeman was asked after his team's thrilling victory in last night's College Football Playoff semifinal about whether he feels proud because of his race.

He handled it like a pro.

Freeman has almost singlehandedly made Notre Dame a likable team, one you want to root for. And a lot of it has to do with moments like this.

ESPN tried to make it all about race, and Freeman was NOT going along with the BS America-is-racist narrative that ESPN loves to push.

I've said this before. I never want to take away from the team. It is an honor and I hope all coaches, minorities, black, Asian, white, it doesn't matter, great people get opportunities to lead young men like this.

This man gets it. He's not about division. He's not about crying "racism" every chance he gets. He's all about leading young men and being excellent at what he does.

ESPN, rightly, was mocked to the hilt for making this about race. And Freeman received much praise for giving the correct answer.

This is exactly why people hate the sports media. It's not even worth watching anything before or after the game with ESPN's unhidden agenda.

I am glad there are still folks like Freeman who care more about what unites than what divides us.
