Fauci says expect Christmas and New Year's to be miserable too

How was your Thanksgiving? Maybe a little smaller than usual. Maybe you didn't get together with people at all. Whatever you did, I think we can all agree that Thanksgiving this year kind of sucked. Now Dr. Anthony Fauci is here to say that Christmas and New Year's aren't going to be any better.

So microwave another plate of that turkey you have to eat all by yourself, and buckle up for more holiday despair!

In an interview with USA TODAY, Dr. Anthony Fauci said,

"If the surge takes a turn of continuing to go up and you have the sustained greater than 100,000 infections a day and 1,300 deaths per day and the count keeps going up and up ... I don't see it being any different during the Christmas and New Year's holidays than during Thanksgiving,"

The good doctor suggested canceling holiday travel and get-togethers and shared his own plans to have holidays over Zoom instead.

Because that's basically the same thing.

"For my own family, I'm saying we had a really great Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. We're looking forward to a really great Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2021,"
