Dr. Fauci being interviewed on CNBC this morning said that the word "mandate" should be dropped in favor of the word "requirement" because it's a less scary word.
'Mandates' – that's a radioactive word. 'Requirements' – people seem to respond better to that. They work.
So here's Fauci, giving the media their marching orders. The term "mandate" is out in favor of requirement.
And this is purely a rhetorical point Fauci is making. There is literally no difference between a vax requirement and a vax mandate. It's simply a PR move, and Fauci, on national TV, let us know that he thinks that we are dumb enough to fall for this bait and switch.
That won't work on us here at Not the Bee. We aren't really fans of using the "politically correct" lingo.
He goes on to tout the success of these "requirements" (which are really mandates), citing United Airlines and the Federal Government as examples of successfully implementing these "no jab, no job" policies.
Fauci goes on to blame the unvaccinated for the persistence of the virus, saying he has no idea why people aren't bowing to his authoritarian demands.
We are never going to get out of this outbreak if we still have 50 million people who, for reasons that are still very, very difficult to understand, refuse to get vaccinated.
It's truly amazing. At the beginning of the clip, the interviewer quoted Scott Gottlieb saying that people were hesitant to get vaccinated BECAUSE of the mandates. Then Fauci, obstinate as ever, says, "no, that can't be it. Mandates work.' Then follows that with "I have no idea why people aren't getting the jab."
Well, let me give you a clue, Doc.
Constant contradiction, constant deception, and constant word games like this one. That's why more people aren't getting the shot.
Look in the mirror, Fauci. You'll find your bad guy.
