Ten months and one day after a newborn was found abandoned in the Florida woods, the baby girl has been adopted.

The parents, who have chosen not to release their names, shared a family picture of their adoption day to give an update on what started as a very tragic story in Mulberry, Florida, early this year, but has been transformed into a happy ending for both this precious baby girl and her obviously elated new parents!

The Polk County Sheriff's Office shared this update on their Facebook page:

The baby was found in the very early hours of the morning on January 28, just a few hours old, and left abandoned in the cold. Thankfully a nearby resident heard her cries, and she was quickly found.

At the time she was found, Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd, called the baby girl Grace, saying,

It was by the Grace of God that we found the abandoned baby girl when we did, before exposure to the cold or any animals caused her any harm. She was left in an extremely vulnerable condition, but she's a strong little girl, and it looks like she's doing great.

The birth mother was never located, but despite her baby's difficult beginnings, the baby girl is now healthy, happy, and very loved.

The new family has a lot to be thankful for this Christmas season as they celebrate their miracle baby's first Christmas and their first Christmas as a family of three!
