Wokies officially changed Fort Hood's name to Fort Cavazos during the Biden administration because John Bell Hood, the base's original namesake, fought for the Confederacy, and we all know there will be none of that in Woke Land.
Well, Woke Land no more!

Fort Hood now honors Colonel Robert B. Hood, a Kansas-born officer who distinguished himself in combat during World War I. Born in 1891, Hood was commissioned in 1917 and quickly earned the Distinguished Service Cross for his heroism in battle.
During the [redesignation] ceremony, Hood's daughter, retired Captain Margaret 'Mitzy' Huffman, received the first ceremonial cannon round as part of the tribute to her father's legacy. The gesture symbolized the installation's new chapter honoring American valor.

Colonel Robert B. Hood's military career spanned decades beyond his World War I service. He continued serving his country until his retirement in 1961 and passed away in 1964, leaving behind a legacy of courage, leadership, and commitment to the Army and nation.
Okay, so they still avoided the Confederate reference. Woke might need a little bit more strangulation here.
But I'm glad to see that we restored the name after the wokies went DEI with the new name -- a name that lasted just over two years!
