Four missing Colombian kids, aged only 11 months to 13 years old, have been found alive after somehow surviving in the jungle for 40 days by themselves after the plane they were traveling in crashed on May 1.
The Cessna C206 took off from Araracuara en route to a northern part of Colombia when its engine failed and it plummeted to earth, killing 3 adults, including the pilot and the kids' mother.
The children, who were reportedly extremely malnourished, were discovered by uniformed officials who were assisted by indigenous searchers.
According to the BBC, the kids belong to the indigenous group Huitoto, which likely meant that the older ones knew how to get around in the jungle and find edible fruits.
According to the commander of the Joint Command of Special Operations, the rescuers had been flying helicopters that played audio of the children's grandmother in their attempts to locate them.
Thank God they were found alive!
