If you and your family are looking for a last days of summer hurrah this weekend, be warned that it's going to hit your wallet harder than normal.
For that matter, as far as Labor Day weekend goes, gas prices have never been higher.
The record-high for gas prices during the week leading up to Labor Day was set in 2012 at $3.84 a gallon...
Thanks, Obama.
...according to a CNN review of federal data that goes back to 1990.
Current prices are just shy of that. The national average for regular gas is $3.83 a gallon as of Thursday, according to AAA.
Oh, well that's nice. It's one penny cheaper than more than a decade ago when the Dems first tried to dry up our domestic oil supply under Obama.
Just as a reminder, under Trump, the average price of gas in September never even got particularly close to $3/gallon.
However, to be fair to President Biden, when you control for inflation (although inflation is bad because of Joe) Obama was actually much, much worse:
It's worth noting that while gas prices are high for this point of the calendar, these figures aren't adjusted for inflation.
On a real (inflation-adjusted) basis, monthly gas prices were well above $4 a gallon late in the summers of 2011-2014, according to the EIA.
But that doesn't do you much good now, does it?
That's Bidenomics!
