Giorgia Meloni is deporting Pro-Hamas Imam Zulfiqar Khan from Italy because his pro-terror messages threatened national security

This is a sea-change for Europe.

She may not be perfect, but at times Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni can be pretty based.

Dude has been preaching hate in Italy for nearly 3 decades and the country finally has a leader willing to say that terror encouragers and terror sympathizers aren't welcome.

On October 8th, 2024, Italy signed the decree for the deportation of Zulfiqar Khan, a 54-year-old imam based in Bologna. Khan, a Pakistani citizen who entered Italy in 1995, had his residence permit revoked at the same time as his expulsion.

The administrative decree highlighted that since autumn 2023 , Khan's behaviour had increasingly exhibited ideological fanaticism and a shift towards radical positions.

Since fall of last year, coinciding with the October 7th attacks on Israel, Khan has become even more radicalized. His sermons have included antisemitic, anti-western, and other rhetoric deemed hateful by the Italian government.

Of course, the Imam also said things that were considered "homophobic" and "sexist," so these probably helped give the pretense that he was a danger to Italian society.

I'm much more inclined to be worried about his pro-Hamas and pro-terrorism rants myself, but hey, whatever it takes, I guess.
