"Get Out" Star Plans to Produce Live Action Barney Movie That Will Be "Darker" Than the TV Show

Finally, the movie everyone has been waiting for is coming to the big screen. Daniel Kaluuya, star of the comedy/horror/social commentary movie "Get Out" has confirmed he is on board to produce a live-action remake of Barney... The Dinosaur.

What happens if that isn't true? Sounds like we are going to get a little bit of a darker, more gritty message from our favorite purple dinosaur.

Kaluuya had this to say to Entertainment Weekly when asked about the upcoming project.

"Barney was a ubiquitous figure in many of our childhoods, then he disappeared into the shadows, left misunderstood," said Kaluuya, who produces through his 59% production company. "We're excited to explore this compelling modern-day hero and see if his message of ‘I love you, you love me' can stand the test of time."

But seriously, who asked for this movie? Who wants to see a remake of Barney the Dinosaur? Also, what does "live-action" mean at this point? A real purple dinosaur? Or is it CGI "live-action" like Lion King? Because that's less live-action than the original TV show.

We are all waiting on the edge of our seats to see what actor will bring the creepy childhood nightmare back to life.
