Last year, China, adding insult to Covid injury, came into America and took back all of their cutest exports.

But we've got some good news for you today.

Yup.

The pandas are coming back!

Months after the nation's capital bid an emotional farewell to its giant pandas, the National Zoo is expecting a renewed surge in panda-mania with the announcement that two more of the furry black-and-white icons will be coming to Washington.

You just THINK you can keep the American people down. But we're the most resilient people on EARTH and we will NOT take no for an answer.

America is still great.

The zoo announced Wednesday that a fresh agreement had been struck with the Chinese government, and a pair of adult pandas would be arriving from China by the end of the year. The Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute said the incoming pair are Bao Li (pronounced BOW'-lee) and Qing Bao (ching-BOW') ...

Word of the new exchange agreement spread quickly through the National Zoo grounds Wednesday, with multiple signs announcing 'The Pandas Are Coming!' and fresh displays of panda-themed merchandise holding a prominent place in the gift shops.

If this deal fell through we may have had to stoop to new lows.

Man, if China tries to ship these "pandas" to us ...

The 20th century's greatest president, the man who initially brokered the deal to get pandas to the US, has to be smiling down on us right now.

When it seems like all the world has gotten too dang dark, there's always a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

(Now you'll just have to survive DC to see them. ๐Ÿ˜ญ)
