We're living in a rapidly-changing world, and even the powers that be at Google know who's boss these days.
Google revealed that its Maps app would reflect the new (or old?) names for Denali and the Gulf of Mexico in accordance with the executive order signed by Trump during his first week back in office.
Trump decreed that Denali would revert back to its previous name Mount McKinley while the Gulf of Mexico would be officially renamed the Gulf of America.
Though critics scoffed at the notion of renaming them, Trump was dead serious.
In an executive order he signed on his first day back in office on Jan. 20, Trump ordered the interior secretary to make the changes within 30 days.
Trump's order said the new names would need to be reflected in the federal Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) run by the U.S. Geological Survey, part of the Interior Department.
So, for future reference, as long as you're using Google Maps in the U.S., you'll have the correct names.
International? Totally out of date.
