CNN just got blasted by Community Notes for this story about "shouting at children"

RIP CNN!

The kings of Fake News, CNN, just got busted by the Twitter Community Notes feature for an insanely misleading headline.

Parents, teachers, coaches and other adults shouting at, denigrating or verbally threatening children can be as damaging to their development as sexual or physical abuse, a new study finds.

...

Unlike other forms of emotional abuse, including indifference, silent treatment and witnessing domestic violence, researchers categorized verbal abuse as more "overt" and said it "warrants special attention."

CNN really wants you to think, for whatever reason, that yelling at your kids is the same (or worse) as sexually assaulting them.

Why do they want to promote this narrative? I couldn't tell you. It's elevating shouting to the same level as pedophilia while making pedophilia seem less worse than it is.

So what's the truth to the study in the story?

Here's the note again for those who can't see it on the original tweet:

The actual study claims that verbal abuse should be considered a real form of abuse and taken seriously. It does not suggest that yelling at a child is as damaging as sexually assaulting them.

Yeah, so the CNN headline is basically nothing more than a lie.

Why in the world would CNN want to minimize child sexual and physical abuse by comparing it to shouting?

(I'm sure it has nothing to do with the push to normalize pedophiles)

It's a totally bizarre thing to try and do, and I'm glad they're getting called out for it.

The Fake News Media is the worst.
