California was founded 170 years ago and 40 percent of its 40 million people are Latino. Despite that, California has never had a Latino senator.

So Gov. Gavin "Marvel Villain" Newsom went ahead and appointed the state's first Latino senator.

Woke mob happy, right?

Wrong. Woke mob mad. Woke mob big mad.

Do you know why Newsom was appointing a senator? That's right, because he needs to replace Kamala Harris — who, of course, is black (and Indian but we don't count that part right?). So black folx are up in arms. Cuz he didn't replace Kamala with another black person.

So Newsom hit the panic throttle and, just 6 hours after announcing his Senate appointment, declared that he will nominate Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, who is black, to be the next secretary of state — another first.

Did that placate the woke mob? Lol no, it just made them angrier 🤣

"Many people believe the governor will pay a political price," Kerman Maddox, a Democratic consultant and fundraiser who is Black, said in an email. "It's a terribly insensitive decision."

"If Governor Newsom thinks our disappointment with the Kamala Harris replacement will be tempered by appointing an African American woman to be California secretary of state, he clearly does not know this constituency," Maddox added. "When I heard the news about the secretary of state appointment, my anger meter went from disappointment to being downright angry."

Black San Francisco Mayor London Breed called the Senate decision "a real blow to the African American community."

This is the part where I remind you that California is 40% Latino and has never had a Latino senator. And the black senator whom Newsom is replacing is doing so because she is moving on to be the (expected) next Vice President of the United States!

You can't win with identity politics. You can't win.
