Just how out-of-touch are some Hollywood celebrities?
James Marsden, the actor from the X-Men movies, Enchanted, and Sonic the Hedgehog, just bought a new $1.8 million mansion in Austin Texas, and, apparently, he loves the small-town feel of the place.
Ahh yes, nothing like the small-town feel of one of the largest cities in one of the largest states in the US.
I guess, when you come from Hollywood, almost anything would seem like a small town.
Austin has about a million people in its population. For comparison, for the last several years, I lived in a city of 3,000 and it was considered the "big city" of my county.
So, no, living in the capital of Texas is not exactly like moving to Green Acres.
Marsden is, justly, being roasted for this accidentally elite comment.
Hopefully, Marsden won't bring his Hollywood politics with him to Texas.
But really, he's in Austin, so I wouldn't hold out hope.
