Kansas City pastor apologizes after viral video shows him berating his "cheap" and "broke" congregation for not buying him a fancy watch

A preacher in Kansas City, Missouri went viral for all the wrong reasons after he went off and accused his congregation of being "broke" and "cheap" after they didn't buy him a fancy new watch.

Here's the video of Carlton Funderburke going ballistic on his church:

Apparently, in Funderburke's world, if you don't give HIM money so he can wear fancy jewelry you're not honoring God.

He calls his congregants, the sheep of his flock, "my cheap sons and daughters" because they wouldn't get him his fancy watch.

This was on August 7. One week later, August 14, Funderburke came back with an apology after he had been thoroughly embarrassed and humiliated.

This dude gives Christianity a terrible, terrible image with his unhinged rant.

He explains that there's more context but he does apologize at least, unlike our flashy preacher friend in New York.

Of course, he's probably mostly upset that he got caught, but at least he says he was wrong.

But the issue isn't his rant, it's his entire theology.

This dude is a Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar wannabe, but let's hope this moment brings him to the realization that the prosperity gospel is poison, that it slanders Christ, and there are eternal consequences involved.
