I think AOC is supposed to be a democratic populist so can someone explain why she's out here dressing like the rich Bond girl who ends up betraying him in the second act?

It's so good to see an up-and-coming socialite finally having her long-awaited official debut:

Do you ever get the feeling that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is just really, really enjoying her life as an international politician/activist/commentator?

I mean, I'm pretty sure that's a $2,000+ coat. Heck, it's a nice coat. She wears it well. But...

...well, I just can't help but feel that there's something amiss here.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is supposed to be, like, a barn-burning, norm-destroying, socialist revolutionary or something, right?

Hasn't she kinda styled herself that way?

And yet she somehow keeps tripping her way into $700 pants and dressing up like a moneyed safari-socialite from the 1940s?

It really is like she's the femme fatale in a Bond movie.

Look, the lady can dress however she wants. She plainly enjoys it and there's nothing wrong with that.

All I'm saying is, well...when you're sufficiently revolutionary โ€” when you really want to change the world โ€” you really don't put this much thought into your appearance.

Really, when you're just entirely consumed with your ideology, you end up looking like...well...

I suppose we should be happy that AOC is focusing less on the revolution and more on Calvin Luo!
