Michigan's governor, the ice queen herself, made a national television appearance with Chris Wallace (who is apparently still employed at CNN). During this chat, she admitted that her lockdown measures were probably a tad too restrictive.
There were moments where we had to make some decisions that were – – in retrospect – don't make a lot of sense.
In retrospect? Looking back NOW you think you went too far?
People at the time KNEW it was insane. If you had listened to any normal, every-day Michigander you would have known you crossed some major lines.
People said "Oh! She outlawed seeds!" It was February in Michigan. Nobody was planting anyways.
Umm... but YOU DID outlaw seeds! You did outlaw gardening supplies, didn't you?
It doesn't matter the month, seeds are important for prepping, they're vital. And Big Gretch closed down those parts of stores because they were "non-essential."
That being said, some of those policies I look back and say maybe it was a little more than we needed to do.
Translation: She got away with it. Then she got reelected by the people of Michigan, so she's going to continue to get away with it (especially now that she has Democrat control of the legislature and they're already ramming through gun control).
The next time it happens she'll do it again. With great relish.
